Maintaining interest in long-term social groups can be hard over time. This is because initially high emotions and expectations of these social groups slowly disappear with time. However, there are several strategies which can be utilized to help maintain interest in such groups.
One, picking an activity or purpose for the group plays a significant role in maintaining an interesting atmosphere. This could be volunteering, traveling together, athletics or music groups. As soon as the common goal has reached or become less exciting the motivation begins to decline, which is expected. Gradually the motivation builds up by introducing new approaches in the same or different direction; avoiding boredom.

Most disagreements and feelings in groups are due to unspecific expectations from the individual. Being honest to each other, making shared expectations and providing clear timelines will make everyone informed on their roles and responsibilities on this big endeavor. Ensuring your messages are unambiguous with the least levels of noise, thereby building bridges among neighbors and maintaining friendships.
Also, implementing staff development plans regularly will also accomplish this. Teams become tired of the usual way of doing things.
