It provides a fantastic mopping experience but lacks the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.

During testing it was able to tackle dust and dry oats on carpets of medium pile as well as pet hair on hard floors. It does not use LIDAR however, as cheaper models do, to identify your home.

Roomba s9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It is loaded with features and incredible cleaning power, including an area for dirt that is built into the charging base. This robot can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest automated schedules to ensure you have a hands-free experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can start the automated cleaning functions with the push of a button. You can select the general clean option that focuses on the removal of larger debris such as rice and cereal. Or you can opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that the entire home is completely cleaned.

This robot vacuum performs well on both floors that are bare and low-pile carpet. It sucks up large items and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as other models do, and it can even clean up pet hair without difficulty. It has a difficult time with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however, iRobot says that future models will be more efficient.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which is focused on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to hug walls and furniture. It's a nice improvement over the hockey puck-like design of the majority of robovacs. However, we found it to be marginally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also features a superior filtration system that blocks microscopic particles and allergens recirculating within your home. We think it's a nice statement however, it's not enough to justify a higher price.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors that remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map the interior. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles, such as staircases and other barriers, and to tidy up your entire home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, and set up virtual boundaries, so it is aware of areas that need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that combine vacuuming and mopping the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those of higher-end models and its mopping feature is better still--its spinning pads do a better job of scrubbing floors than a stationary vibrating pad.

The only issue is the lack of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, it's not a problem for those who want to own one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank of the robo-vac is larger than many of its competitors and filling it up only takes two or three cycles even when you've got the most dirt.

As for the mopping device, I was awestruck with its ability to scrub off hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. Its two lowest mopping modes, which are less aggressive than the high-powered ones, produce minimal noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without interruption. It will gently hit furniture or walls, and move on whenever it comes across one.

What really makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly completely autonomously, requiring only a little for human intervention. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and can automatically transfer trash into a hidden bin. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app will only inform you when something is not right for example, the water tank being empty or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to the bin being full.

You can also design and merge actual rooms to alter the way that Q Revo treats your abode. This is an excellent feature for those who have multiple areas of your home with different floor robot vacuum and mop combo materials or if there's some clutter that needs to be cleaned out frequently, like toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac is also very efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, removing dirt from carpets and hardwoods in its first run. It is able to even vacuum up wet spills but I would suggest cleaning them off using a clean cloth before bringing the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a premium robot vacuum and mop combo and more. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it comes with a powerful vacuum with powerful suction that cleans hard and carpet floors, and an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough staining. It also has an auto-cleaning base station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them free of germs and ready to use again. It also has a new sensor system that is able to better recognizes obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture or other objects.

The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version has a sleeker, more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It has a height of more than two feet height and depth and weighs nearly four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot J7.

This model is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it charges faster and can handle a full cleaning of approximately 1,500 square feet in one charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris and is easier to empty it when needed.

Additionally it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and an assistant voice that works offline, so you can control it even when you're not at home. It also comes with a smart routing feature that lets it clean specific rooms or areas of your home instead of following a predetermined path.

The Omni X2 Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested because of its mop pads that rotate to scrub away tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent as well and it increases suction when it detects carpet to ensure it does a thorough job. It also has a massive battery that can last for weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as effective as the ones we've seen on a consumer-grade robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a high-end model that offers a number of features that aren't typically found on robots in this price range. It can make precise floor maps and recognize different flooring types. It's also among the few robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are great but they also place the L10s in the luxury category. This might make it more expensive than what homeowners want.

It is designed to resemble a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish highlighted by mirror-plated silver elements. The front of the machine features an enormous bumper that shields the vacuum cleaner and furniture when you are moving around your home. Behind the pane at the front is a second navigation technology with sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button that is used as an on/off switch. This button will turn on the vacuum. If you click it again, it will shut it off and send it to its base station. The center of the control panel includes a circular menu that lets you select cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons below the screen will open the settings menu in which you can alter how the L10s Ultra works with your home.

Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to map out your home. This creates a precise floor plan that helps the robot vacuum and mop efficiently without getting stuck in cluttered areas. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and identify them as obstacles, which is an excellent feature for households with pets or young children.

The L10s Ultra is an extremely powerful vacuum cleaner, removing 98.4 percent of debris from our test on hard floors, and taking out all but stubborn juice staining. Its mops also do a great job, removing 98.4% debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. However, it wasn't quite as effective in removing sand from the floor, or the quaker oats that are on carpet.
