Volvo drivers appreciate their key fob's convenient remote features. They can lock and unlock their car and start the engine, and even locate it via the smartphone app.

Place the fob's front up on an uncluttered surface. Find the button that will release it. Place a coin between the cover of the fob and the fob, and carefully pull it up.

Unlocking the Door

Closing the Windows

One of the lesser-known features that is not visible on Volvo key fobs is the ability to roll down all of the windows in a matter of seconds when you use them. This is helpful in situations where you need to squeeze into tight parking spaces or simply want fresh air while driving.

Find a smooth surface and lay out your key fob, battery and any other keys. Find the small black button on the left-hand corner of the key fob, and move it to the right. The cover will fall off and reveal the mechanical key blade beneath.
